How Physical Therapy Can Help Your Child!

How Physical Therapy Can Help Your Child!

Feb 20, 2019 | Uncategorized |

Pediatric physical therapists work with children of all ages to develop their gross motor skills to allow them to better explore their environment and participate in typical childhood activities. We work with children and their families to help each child reach their maximal potential to function independently and participate in their community.

As movement experts, pediatric physical therapists collaborate with families to design a treatment plan that best meets each child’s needs.

Services often address the following in their plan of care:

  • developmental activities
  • strengthening
  • endurance
  • balance
  • coordination
  • tone management
  • posture
  • positioning
  • orthotics, prosthetics, and motor learning

Typically, we work with infants and toddlers who aren’t meeting their motor milestones and older children who have trouble keeping up with their peers in school or extra-curricular activities.

We treat children with a wide variety of diagnoses such as Developmental Delay, Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, and Torticollis.

If you’d like to receive a free screening at our to see how your child could benefit from a physical therapist, please contact our Point Loma/Liberty Station clinic:
